Surely, we ask ourselves, despite an apparent intransigence to acknowledge reality, even Cameron cannot be ignorant of the overwhelming mass of evidence against fracking. Unfortunately, the only commonsense we can hope for in 2015 is at the ballet box.
We tried to warn every UK newspaper just three years ago and with the notable exception of Michael White at the excellent Guardian, they neither knew nor cared. Too late now.
