Your editor hails from Lancashire and takes personal offence. The Trough of Bowland, which I doubt if NS has ever visited, currently represents some of the most beautiful unspoilt wilderness in the UK. We wonder what the Duke of Westminster ( owner of huge swaithes of the moorlands in question would have to say about Sir Nick's comments ). Ed.
